Japan's premier electric-arc furnace steel producer, Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co, cheerfully announced on Tuesday that it's maintaining its steel product prices for October. The decision comes in response to a measured pace in the domestic construction scene and tempered international demand.
October marks the third consecutive month that the company has kept a consistent price tag on all its steel offerings, H-shaped beams being one of their star products. It's worth noting that they did adjust prices for certain items back in July. Industry peers across Asia, like South Korea's Posco and Hyundai Steel, as well as China's Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd (Baosteel), often keep an eye on Tokyo Steel's pricing moves. For those keeping tabs, the price of steel bars, rebar included, is set to remain at a cool 98,000 yen ($663) per metric ton. Likewise, the H-shaped beams are holding steady at 127,000 yen per ton. Cheers to stability! Source : Reuters (Reporting by Yuka Obayashi)
